Displaying Creatively

We did a little rearranging on the Annex…so hopefully you’ve gotten to check it out.  If not, it’s my Pick of the Week!

Our Home Decor section is now called “Creative Display” and has been broken down into more categories to help you find exactly what you’re looking for to decorate your home:

One of my absolute favorites right now are the District Market printed burlap panels from Tim Holtz (so bonus Pick of the Week?):

These are just a few of the designs available on the Annex.  I’m seriously considering putting a few of these above my bookcases at home.  We’ve got this library ladder bookcase thing going on in our living room and I think the Subway panel would be a very nice addition to the look we’ve got going on.  Culynn – thoughts?  :)

Happy Weekend and Happy Decorating!

Pin of the Week time.

Are you loving Pinterest this year as much as I am?  The only thing I REALLY need to do is start DOING the things I’m pinning!  2400+ pins…and I’ve only done a few of them…uff da.

So the Pin of the Week for this week is about this holiday that’s right around the corner.

Valentine’s Day.

Yesterday I shared with you a bunch of cute “little” ideas for Valentine’s Day.  Today, it’s about some bigger ideas for a few people.  Minis are great and really do mean a lot AND you can make a bunch in little time.  If you’re not big into this holiday, but still want to give a nice gift to someone in your life, check out these cute Valentine creative display/wall art ideas:

A frame.  A tray.  Some kind of creative display that shows how much you care.

ANYTHING handmade always means so much more than something you can pick up at the last minute at a store.

Here are a couple other ideas from Archiver’s…

I’d love to see your Valentine ideas for 2012!  Post a picture on the Archiver’s Facebook page!

Happy Crafting!

Crafting at the Office

We had some fun at the Archiver’s Home Office yesterday after our annual Holiday Potluck.  As most of you know, our home office moved just over a month ago…so we all got to decorate the small trays from 7gypsies to put by our offices and work spaces.  I’ll let the pictures do the talking…

It was so much fun to watch everyone ENJOY making something to display in their space.  Each tray was SO different and really represent the person that made it.

Mine isn’t finished due to my indecisiveness and my lack of glue sticks for the hot glue gun.

We’d love to see the wall are you’ve made this year!  Post pictures on our Facebook page!

Introducing…

The Pin of the Week!

Have you heard of Pinterest?  It’s probably my new favorite thing in the entire world.  (It seriously drives my husband nuts how often I’m on Pinterest…but I secretly think he likes it too).  It’s a site to find all sorts of creative new ideas and to share things you’ve found whilst searching the internet.  Basically, you create boards and “pin” ideas to these boards.  For example, I have a “Crafty Things” board.  Whenever I see a fun do-it-yourself project, I pin the idea to the board.  (It’s really not as complicated as it sounds…you’ll get the hang of it once you spend some time on the site.)

I thought it’d be fun to have a “Pin of the Week” blog each and every Tuesday (or maybe Wednesday depending on the week) and share an exciting idea that I’ve seen in my hours on Pinterest.  There are SO MANY ideas on this site.  Recipes, DIY craft projects, holiday ideas, fashion, photography, home decor, gift ideas, fitness tips, inspirational quotes, hilarious things (that I laugh out loud at), wedding ideas, etc.  Each week, I’m going to share something new that I think is just great.

So here’s my Pin of the Week.

Seriously, how easy would this be to make!  Foam squares, patterned paper, adhesive, and maybe a sanding block to create clean edges.  Done.  It’s wall art tailored to YOUR home and YOUR decor!  What’s even better – you can get all sorts of crafty and creative products at Archiver’s or Archivers Annex to make the brilliant things you see on Pinterest!

That’s what I love the most about Pinterest.  The creative juices are endless on this site!  Check out some more “pins” similar to my Pin of the Week:

Each Tuesday I’ll be posted some brilliant inspiration I’ve seen on Pinterest.  There are so many amazing ideas out there!  Just be warned, you might get addicted to this site!  It’s incredible!

I am LOVING the 7gypsies photo trays that everyone is talking about lately.  Have you seen them?  They’re available in three different sizes that you can fill with photos, embellishments, patterned paper, even ATC cards.   Once we saw a few decorated trays and thought of all the cool possibilities, we couldn’t wait to spread the word and what better way to do it than a contest?  We started with an employee contest to get tons of great ideas to share – check out some of my favorite entries!
