Last week seriously got away from me!  I have NO IDEA where the time went.  Don’t you hate that?

Pin of the Week is back! (I’m really sorry for missing last week’s post, but hopefully you’ve all been pinning and crafting and crafting and pinning!)

I’m really trying to stretch myself and look at things differently AND not be afraid to try new things.  Remember that list of 29 Ways to Stay Creative?  It’s posted on my cork board right next to my desk.  It hasn’t made it into a frame yet, but that’s still on my to do list.

So I have three pins today.  They’re all quilts and I love the patterns on them:

Any of these designs would be so cool on a scrapbook layout, card, some kind of wall art, anything.  Again, that’s why I love Pinterest so much.  Endless inspiration and endless possibilities.

I don’t have any crafty creations with these pins yet.  Emphasis on the yet.  I’d really like to do something with the mosaic, but I’m thinking I’d use it as a border around a page instead of covering the entire page. I’m also really liking the “flying geese” pattern.  I think it would look really cool with bold, bright, in your face patterns and colors, and maybe a black and white photo.  Or even really similar, subtle patterns and colors and a bold photo.  Definitely on my “to try” list.

Stay tuned.

I have a whole tote full of letter stickers in all shapes and sizes.

AND there are more floating around my apartment in bags and random totes and in Culynn’s SMASH stuff.

They’re everywhere.

I’m way excited about this week’s Pick of the Week…they’re one of my absolute new favorites:

SO STINKIN’ CUTE!

They’re an adorable, little size and great for layouts, cards, SMASH books, you name it.

Check out all the fantastic colors!

Plus.  They’re sticky enough that you can move them around if you don’t like where you originally placed them.  Do you ever have that problem with some letters?  You stick them down, want to move them, and they’ve lost all the stick?  No good.  No good at all.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter this weekend!

It’s that time again…Pin of the Week time!

I thought it was only fitting to have an Easter-themed pin since it’s only a few days away…

It’s the “Egg-stra cute ideas!” board from Archiver’s!

So many cute ideas to get you started on Easter projects, or to inspire you after the holiday is over!

What kind of crafty projects are you working on this spring?  Anything exciting?

Happy Pinning!

Has spring sprung in your neck of the woods?

It sure has in Minnesota and I think everyone is coming out of hibernation (not that we really needed to with this winter that wasn’t) and I’ve been wearing my flips flops for about a week.

My Pick of the Week is very springy, and cheery, and is great for any project you might have going on…

My Mind’s Eye 6×6 paper pads

These are part of the new collections from My Mind’s Eye and seriously, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these patterns and colors.  As most of you know, I’m working on my honeymoon album, and the “On the Bright Side” collection is PERFECT for all things St. Maarten.  The orange, diagonal paper in the lower right corner?  I think I bought three sheets…and then went back and bought another two (partly because I don’t have enough orange paper in my stash, partly because I love it so much, and partly because I forgot I had already bought it).

If you haven’t checked out these great collections, you’re missing out!  There are amazing 6×6 paper pads, gorgeous 12×12 papers, embellishments galore, and I’m pretty sure you’re going to love all of it.

Happy Friday!

I told you I was going to and now I have.

I have FINALLY used a pin as inspiration for a project.

So here’s today Pin of the Week:

I loved this quote, but I love the layout of it even more (which is hard to do with a quote from Audrey Hepburn).  The quotes on the top and bottom, the green banner in the middle.  The hardest part in using this pin as inspiration was finding a quote I wanted to use!

This is what I came up with:

Mine turned out a bit different, but that’s what ScrapLifting is all about, right?

If I could live at the beach, I would.  I absolutely LOVE palm trees and the ocean and the sand.  Ugh.  Love it.

The pictures are from my honeymoon to St. Maarten and are some of my absolute favorites from the trip.  I just turned them into instagrams to use on this layout.  The Sony machine has become my new best friend for printing instagrams.  The quality amazes me every time AND being able to print multiple photos on one 4×6 print is brilliant.

So some photos, three sheets of cardstock (it took me a few tries to get the banner right), Lily Bee Design alphabet stickers, Iguana Thickers, my black SMASH pen, my white Signo pen, a tape runner and some pop dots, and done.

How does Pinterest inspire you?  Have you created anything cool from a pin?

Happy Pinning!

Not being afraid…

Pinterest, oh Pinterest.  You never cease to amaze me…or inspire me.

I think a lot of us are afraid of failing.  I know I am, especially when it comes to scrapping the big things.  I get a bit stressed about which paper to use, which letters to use, if I’m going to run out of something, if I have enough of something, the list goes on.  I want my scrapbooks to look just right and be something I’m proud of.  It’s silly and I know it, and yet, I continue to stress almost every time I scrap.

But I’m learning and I’m growing and I’m getting over it…it’s all part of the process.

Like the “29 Ways to Stay Creative” says, “quit beating yourself up”, “allow yourself to make mistakes”, and “stop trying to be someone else’s perfect”.

Failure is ok.  Sometimes a “fail” turns out to be a major success.  We just have to get over the fear (which I know is easier said than done).  It’s all about learning and growing.

On a sort of unrelated note, I mentioned last week that I’m going to actually USE my pins to create something.  It’s in the works and it’s GOING TO HAPPEN!  So stay tuned!  :)

Gettin’ Grungy

Pick of the Week!  Pick of the Week!

We’ve just added a bunch of new products to the Annex…and even more are on their way!

My Pick of the Week today is a stamp set from Stamping Bella…and I picked a stamp because I don’t consider myself a stamper.

However.

I would LOVE to do more with stamping.  I have stamp sets and blocks and inks and embossing powders and a heat tool and just about everything you could ever need to stamp…but I never stamp.

So I guess this has turned into another challenge for myself…stamp more!

And it just works out so well that this stamp set is adorable and would work so well on just about any project:

I’m currently working on my honeymoon album and this set would be absolutely perfect to use on any page.  Culynn and I went to St. Maarten for ten days, so holy hannah do I have pictures to scrap.  Somewhere around 2100…and I think I’m about 30 some pages into the album (it’s progress, right?).  Any of these stamps would make a funky background if stamped with VersaMark or even with a bright, bold ink.  I think the negative would be adorable in a SMASH book with Instagrams (stay tuned for more about those next week!).

Do you like to stamp on layouts?  How do you decide what to stamp and where to stamp?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

Happy Friday everyone!

“Pin”spiration

Have you been inspired by Pinterest lately?

I feel like it’s a daily thing for me.  Whether I’m looking for a recipe, a fun way to decorate my kitchen, something crafting to make, or black and white photographs, there is always something that catches my eye.

Here’s what caught my eye this morning (if you click the “read the rest of this entry” I have a bigger image that’s a bit easier to read):

Oh my word.

A bunch of new goodies have been added to the Annex…and this one is just too cute.  I kind of can’t stand how cute this border punch is…hence the reason I picked it for this week’s Annex Pick of the Week:

Check out the other adorable styles from Jenni Bowlin and Fiskars…they’re probably just ask cute:

I love border punches and I love that they can be a bold statement on a page or they can be super subtle.

Check out the rest of the border and edge punches on the Annex: http://www.archiversannex.com/Punches-And-Crafting-Tools/Border-And-Edge-Punches/default.aspx?PageID=20&CategoryID=106

Happy Friday!
