Pinterest, oh Pinterest. You never cease to amaze me…or inspire me.
I think a lot of us are afraid of failing. I know I am, especially when it comes to scrapping the big things. I get a bit stressed about which paper to use, which letters to use, if I’m going to run out of something, if I have enough of something, the list goes on. I want my scrapbooks to look just right and be something I’m proud of. It’s silly and I know it, and yet, I continue to stress almost every time I scrap.
But I’m learning and I’m growing and I’m getting over it…it’s all part of the process.
Like the “29 Ways to Stay Creative” says, “quit beating yourself up”, “allow yourself to make mistakes”, and “stop trying to be someone else’s perfect”.
Failure is ok. Sometimes a “fail” turns out to be a major success. We just have to get over the fear (which I know is easier said than done). It’s all about learning and growing.
On a sort of unrelated note, I mentioned last week that I’m going to actually USE my pins to create something. It’s in the works and it’s GOING TO HAPPEN! So stay tuned!

The inspiration on Pinterest is endless…do I sound like a broken record yet?
So I’m creating a challenge for myself in the next couple of weeks and hopefully you’ll find as much inspiration as I’m hoping to.
There are so many cool pictures and quotes and design-y things on Pinterest…and most of the time they just hang out on one of my boards. And that’s it. I don’t do anything with them (which is pretty sad if you ask me).
So my challenge…
To actually USE these pins for inspiring projects.
For example, the yellow square that says “THINK YOU CAN…” would be an adorable start to a layout.
It might be a photo, a quote, a texture, a color scheme, anything.
Inspiration is everywhere.
How does Pinterest inspire you?

Have you been inspired by Pinterest lately?
I feel like it’s a daily thing for me. Whether I’m looking for a recipe, a fun way to decorate my kitchen, something crafting to make, or black and white photographs, there is always something that catches my eye.
Here’s what caught my eye this morning (if you click the “read the rest of this entry” I have a bigger image that’s a bit easier to read):

Any of these ideas would be super cute for your kiddo Valentines this year. I don’t have any kiddos yet…but I’ll definitely be saving these ideas for those future little ones.

Pin of the Week time.
Are you loving Pinterest this year as much as I am? The only thing I REALLY need to do is start DOING the things I’m pinning! 2400+ pins…and I’ve only done a few of them…uff da.
So the Pin of the Week for this week is about this holiday that’s right around the corner.
Valentine’s Day.
Yesterday I shared with you a bunch of cute “little” ideas for Valentine’s Day. Today, it’s about some bigger ideas for a few people. Minis are great and really do mean a lot AND you can make a bunch in little time. If you’re not big into this holiday, but still want to give a nice gift to someone in your life, check out these cute Valentine creative display/wall art ideas:
A frame. A tray. Some kind of creative display that shows how much you care.
ANYTHING handmade always means so much more than something you can pick up at the last minute at a store.
Here are a couple other ideas from Archiver’s…
I’d love to see your Valentine ideas for 2012! Post a picture on the Archiver’s Facebook page!
Happy Crafting!

It’s the last day of January (good night where is 2012 going)…and the stores are pretty much exploding with Valentine’s Day products. I think one of the grocery stores here has had Valentine candy out since around Christmas.
So in the spirit of this holiday of loooove…my pin of the week!
What a cute idea for some creative display in your home, apartment, classroom, desk at work, wherever! Grab a heart punch and a shadowbox, some cute paper or cardstock, and some adhesive, and bam. An adorable frame (or two or three) for wherever you choose to display it.
Here are a couple more variations on this cute idea:

Love is in the air! Any of these would make a really special Valentine’s Day gift for a friend or loved one. You could even change it up and use a star punch, or a dinosaur punch, or whatever punch you’d like.
Happy Crafting!

I told you last week…I’m going to get organized and stay organized this year!
So continuing with that theme…here’s my Pin of the Week:
You: Hold the phone…that’s not about organizing!
Me: I know I know…but what a cool idea, I couldn’t resist sharing!
You: Ok, I suppose, but I really thought you were going to talk about organizing…
Me: And I am! Here we go!
All of these great storage ideas have been found on Pinterest, so I most definitely cannot take credit for them. But aren’t they brilliant! It’s always those small odd-sized things that I have trouble keeping organized, and Stickles are one of them. I love that each of these Pins has them stored pointing down – it’s genius!
Don’t forget – Today is the LAST DAY to get 53% off QuicKutz/Lifestyle Craft dies AND Keepsafe storage boxes at Archiver’s (in stores only).
How do you keep your craft room/craft supplies organized?

Happy 2012 everyone!
Have you made any resolutions this year? One of mine is most definitely to get my butt in gear and get back to the gym. Seriously. It’s on my way home from work. I’ve run out of excuses for not going.
Another resolution of mine is to get my scrap stuff organized and to KEEP IT organized. My scrap stuff is mostly contained, but I have a bunch of random bags and boxes floating around my apartment (that are pretty much driving Culynn crazy). AND it tends to get pretty cluttered when I’m working on pages…so my Pin of the Week is all about organizing.
I don’t have that much extra space in my apartment, but I do have a bookcase that holds most of my scrap stuff. I have paper organized by color, all of my gems are in a tote (I love some bling!), embellishments are in a tote, ribbon and trims are in a tote, and then I have a tote of projects in progress.
I’m not so secretly hoping that someday I’ll be able to have my very own scrap room once Culynn and I are in a house. I’ve even been told by a certain husband of mine that I will get a scrap room because he doesn’t want to see all my scrap stuff all over the place…so I’m thinking this will work out pretty well.
Here are a few more organization ideas:

I’d love to hear how you’re staying organized…post a comment here on the blog or on the Archiver’s Facebook page!

…ok who are we kidding. I’ll be pinning til the end!
Today I thought I’d change things up a bit. Instead of a project or cool crafting finding, I thought I’d leave you with something inspiring for the end of the year:
At the end of this year, take time to enjoy. Especially the little things. Take pictures. Be silly. Laugh. Cry. Whatever you want to end this year with.
Just enjoy it.
