The home decor ideas on Pinterest are just unbelievable.  I could probably sit for hours just looking at ways to decorate kitchens and bathrooms and living rooms.  And then I could sit for a few more hours looking at my dream houses, shoes, and recipes I hope to make…but I’m getting off topic.

Today’s Pin of the Week turned out to be three Pins of the Week.

Like I said, there are so many fun ways to decorate floating around Pinterest, so I had to share three of those with you this morning:

What I love the most about these three ideas is that they’d be SO EASY to make!  Grab some patterned paper or cardstock, some adhesive, ribbon and/or fishing line, the Tiny Attacher would make those paper chains a breeze, and you’ve got some awesome ways to decorate!  The bright colors of the first pin would be so fun at a birthday party.  The second one would look awesome at a wedding if it was done in the colors to match everything, maybe by the place cards.  And how adorable are those banners in that nursery.

There are so many different patterned papers at Archiver’s and on the Annex and a rainbow of cardstock colors!

Stop by your local Archiver’s or pop on over to the Annex to get everything you need to start crafting!

Happy Pinning!

…to be wonderful.

The minute I saw this pin, I loved it.  It’s a fantastic reminder, especially for all of us perfectionists out there.

Ever since I took a photography class in college, I’ve been obsessed.  I love my digital SLR and I still love my 35mm for taking black and white photos (even though I don’t use it as often as I should).

But.

I’m always trying to get the perfect photo.  The perfect angle.  The perfect lighting.  I want it just right.

This pin helped remind me that being perfect isn’t the point.

The point is the memories behind the photo.

I made a layout inspired by this quote, using a photo that’s not quite perfect:

This is one of the only photos Abby has with her grandpa from this Twins game.  He was 85 in this photo and had been a Twins fan forever.  This was his very first trip to the Metrodome to see them play.  It’s a little blurry and Abby’s eyes are closed, but who cares?  It’s a photo at the Twins game with her grandpa and she’ll remember that day forever.

So maybe went on a family trip and the only group shot is blurry, or someone is sticking out his or her tongue (that’s all I did in third grade, drove my dad crazy!), or it rained, or something happened and it wasn’t the Kodak moment you hoped for.

It’s not the end of the world.

Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful – Annette Funicello.

Grids are in this year.

Or at least they appear to be – I’m not too savvy when it comes to trends…

The following layouts are my Pinspiration today and my Pins of the Week:

Amy Tan layout (left)

Jillibean Soup layout (center)

October Afternoon layout (right)

Not gonna lie, it was kind of a happy accident that I ended up with a grid layout.  I printed just the right amount of photos (using the collage feature I LOVE on the Sony machine at my local Archiver’s) and needed a little somethin’ extra for my layout.  Check it out:

I started by adhering my photos in the grid pattern and then just used a needle to poke holes and add my twine.  I tied a knot and added some gems, and that was it!  Super easy and a great way to display a bunch of photos from an event.

Don’t forget – copies and photo prints are 50% off on Tuesdays in stores!  If you haven’t tried the collage feature, you HAVE to.  Stop by your local Archiver’s and they’ll be more than happy to show you the fun features of the Sony machine or the Canon copier!

Happy Scrapping!
