A quick and easy idea for Mom – Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday!

Grab some patterned papers, some burlap or canvas for some cool texture, letter stickers, a journal pen, and some cute embellishments, a binding tool (I love the Cinch!), adhesive, and you’re set.

Oh you’ll need some photos too…that’s the whole point of this project!  :)

Check it out:

This album took no time at all.  It’s a cool collection of textures and papers the really show off some black and white photos.  They don’t have to be professional photos, just a few of your favorites, or maybe the funniest ones.

It’s probably easiest to get your pages arranged before you add photos and embellishments.  Get them in order and then punch holes so everything matches up.  Then go to town adding photos, journaling, and embellishments.

Easy, and adorable, Mother’s Day gift!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!  I’m guessing scrapbooking or crafting is the LAST thing on your mind right now…unless it involves wrapping those last minute gifts.  So this is just a thought for the next couple of days as you’re taking tons of pictures and saving bits of wrapping paper and memoribilia for your scrapbooks.

The kiddos are off of school for a bit, so why not take some time to preserve those memories – and get rid of Cabin Fever for a little while?  I’ll probably have a memory card full of pictures from Christmas this weekend.  The events of your holiday festivities will be fresh in your mind, so it’s a great time to jot down a few thoughts before it’s March and you can’t quite remember everything you did!  I always have the best intentions to scrapbook right after the event…and then I put it off and put it off, and before I know it, I’ve forgotten all the things I wanted to scrap in the first place.  Don’t make my mistakes!  :)

Kirsten and her daughter made this great American Girl Doll album together the other night and I just had to share it with you!  We’ve got a TON of snow here in Minnesota, so these two found a great way to stay cozy and warm – and enjoy some time scrapbooking together!  It sure helped them beat some Cabin Fever for a couple of hours!  Check out some of the pages they made:

Whether you’re making a few Christmas pages for your book or catching up on the events of 2010 (or 2005 like I am!), scrapbooking , card-making, or crafting in general is a FANTASTIC way to beat Cabin Fever – especially if you’re in the Midwest with all of this snow!

The Archiver’s Family wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday weekend!

I am in mid-planning for a family trip to Disney World this summer.  My husband and I took our eldest son Will, when he was four.  Will was in awe of the place.  My husband and I smiled just watching him.  We have great memories and photos from that trip.  When we got back – I had every intention of an elaborate scrapbook to commemorate our trip (which is still not done – trip was in 2007!).  I also wanted to make Will a quick little album that he could enjoy.  I did finish that album and it has turned into the most beloved memory book in our house.

This is one of my favorite pictures.  The quality isn’t that great – you can’t even see the faces of the subjects, but the memory attached to it is priceless to me.  My grandpa was an avid golfer.  He spent literally half of his life on the golf course.  This was taken the last time Grandpa was able to go out to a course.  He was dying of leukemia that summer and got this one last chance to go out while my mom, aunts and uncles (who played in this golf  tournament with him every year) were playing.  Read the rest of this entry »

So I’m totally loving that we are bringing in fabric!  The new American Crafts “Dear Lizzy” collection has adorable adhesive backed fabric (insert jumping up and down here) and even though it’s kind of a girly collection, I used it on the cover of this album for my cousin’s little boy and I think it turned out pretty stinkin’ cute :)   Check out Archiver’s the beginning of March for this to come in!
