Happy 2012 everyone!

Have you made any resolutions this year?  One of mine is most definitely to get my butt in gear and get back to the gym.  Seriously.  It’s on my way home from work.  I’ve run out of excuses for not going.

Another resolution of mine is to get my scrap stuff organized and to KEEP IT organized.  My scrap stuff is mostly contained, but I have a bunch of random bags and boxes floating around my apartment (that are pretty much driving Culynn crazy).  AND it tends to get pretty cluttered when I’m working on pages…so my Pin of the Week is all about organizing.

I don’t have that much extra space in my apartment, but I do have a bookcase that holds most of my scrap stuff.  I have paper organized by color, all of my gems are in a tote (I love some bling!), embellishments are in a tote, ribbon and trims are in a tote, and then I have a tote of projects in progress.

I’m not so secretly hoping that someday I’ll be able to have my very own scrap room once Culynn and I are in a house.  I’ve even been told by a certain husband of mine that I will get a scrap room because he doesn’t want to see all my scrap stuff all over the place…so I’m thinking this will work out pretty well.  :)

Here are a few more organization ideas:

I’d love to hear how you’re staying organized…post a comment here on the blog or on the Archiver’s Facebook page!

…ok who are we kidding.  I’ll be pinning til the end!  :)

Today I thought I’d change things up a bit.  Instead of a project or cool crafting finding, I thought I’d leave you with something inspiring for the end of the year:

At the end of this year, take time to enjoy.  Especially the little things.  Take pictures.  Be silly.  Laugh.  Cry.  Whatever you want to end this year with.

Just enjoy it.

Crafting at the Office

We had some fun at the Archiver’s Home Office yesterday after our annual Holiday Potluck.  As most of you know, our home office moved just over a month ago…so we all got to decorate the small trays from 7gypsies to put by our offices and work spaces.  I’ll let the pictures do the talking…

It was so much fun to watch everyone ENJOY making something to display in their space.  Each tray was SO different and really represent the person that made it.

Mine isn’t finished due to my indecisiveness and my lack of glue sticks for the hot glue gun.

We’d love to see the wall are you’ve made this year!  Post pictures on our Facebook page!

Random Fact about Meg #1.

I LOVE wrapping presents.  Seriously.  I make my own bows.  I match ribbons to paper and go get ribbon to match if I don’t have any.  I’m super picky about wrapping paper (ask Culynn, we went to Target yesterday to get wrapping paper).  I re-fluff bows when they get squished.  I love wrapping presents!

So this year…in my wanderings around Pinterest…I found some cool ideas for wrapping present and labeling presents and thought this would be the perfect time to share with you (especially if you’re like me and wait til just a few days before Christmas to wrap presents).

Check it out:

Aren’t these present adorable?!  AND you could totally do something like this all year (birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, you name it)!

If you have a Cricut, eclips, Silhouette, Big Shot, Vagabond, die-cutting machine of your choice, you could easily cut a bunch of letters.  Don’t have a machine like one of those?  Print off a letter, cut it out, trace it on some patterned paper or cardstock, cut that out, add a ribbon or some bling and done.  You could also stop by your local Archiver’s and use the dies in the back room to make all sorts of adorable letters!

Happy Pinning!

Hi.  My name is Meg and I’m a procrastinator (and a perfectionist, but you knew that from last week).

Every year I decide to make Christmas cards and I go out and look through all of the papers and stamps and embellishments and get so excited and inspired.  I buy all the goodies I need to make cards…

…and then I never make them.

Last year I was going to be SUPER simple and stamp a nativity image on gold cardstock and call it a day.  Yeah…it sat and is currently still sitting…

So this year.  I got married and my dear friend Kirsten told me it’s the law that my Christmas card has to be a wedding picture…that should be easy right?

Thankfully there are a bunch of card ideas on the Archiver’s website with photos…here are a few:

I think I’m going to go the simple route (especially if I decide to write a cute letter) and print a bunch of one photo, pop it on some cardstock, add some bling (I love bling!) and stamp a sentiment inside.  Easy.  As.  That.

We’ll see how this turns out…I’ll keep you posted.

Well shoot.

It’s about time I had a scrapbook-y Pin of the Week, don’t ya think?  Geez.

Christmas is on its way…and so are the hundreds of pictures taken on this wonderful holiday and all of the other wonderful holidays celebrated this month.

I’m going to be celebrating Christmas six times during the month of December.  Christmas Eve with one side of the fam, Christmas Morning just Culynn and I,  Christmas Later Morning with the other side of the fam, Christmas the day after Christmas with my whole fam (my sister is a nurse, so we’re extending it a bit), and then two Christmas celebrations out in South Dakota with Culynn’s fam and extended fam.

So boy howdy I’m going to need some help scrappin’ Christmas this year.  For the most part, I like to keep one event per page (unless a lot of things happened and I have to squish it all into one layout).  So six Christmas layouts, here I come.

Thank goodness for inspiration from Pinterest…

I know it’s a bit early to make a New Year’s resolution, but it’s a great idea to scrap Christmas and the holidays shortly after they happen.  Stay tuned for an email from Archiver’s with all sorts of great Christmas scrapping and layout ideas!

Happy Monday!  Did you have a good weekend?  Get a lot of Christmas shopping done?

For those of you (who are like me) and haven’t gotten all of their shopping done and are looking for a brilliant handmade gift idea, look no further!  Today I have two awesome handmade gift ideas for you…Christmas Tree Ornaments!

The first is super easy and will look great on any tree…it’s the Umbra Fotoball Ornament.  Just print some tiny photos the Sony machine works great (and all photos prints and copies are 50% on Tuesday!), adhere them to the piece included or a piece of paper the same size, pop it in the ornament, add a ribbon or embellishment, and done.  A great ornament that shows off your family vacation, your kiddos, your pets, you name it!  I made one using pictures from my honeymoon to St. Maarten…my tree needed a little tropical somethin’ somethin’ on it.  :)

The ideas don’t end here…

Archiver’s stores have these awesome new ornaments this year from Ragon House.  They come in two sizes – 4″ x 6″ and 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.  Check out some amazing ornaments made using these frames:

You can make them as fancy or as simple as you want.  Just pop in a photo and hang it on your tree (or in a window, or at your desk, or wherever, it doesn’t have to be an ornament!).  Pop in a photo, add some ribbon, gems, stickers, the embellishing possibilities are endless.

I’d love to see what kinds of ornaments you’ve made this year!  Post a photo on the Archiver’s Facebook page!

Stop back tomorrow for the Pin of the Week!
