Each kit contains pre-designed covers, instructions, papers, string, and so much more! Mini albums are so much fun to make and can be fun for the whole family. Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? When I was a kid, we (my younger sister and I) used to put up paper hearts that we cut from construction paper and doilies. I’m pretty sure my mom still has a couple of them in a folder somewhere. I just loved decorating around my house with things I had made. It didn’t matter what it was for, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, a Tuesday, I remember feeling so proud of the decorations I had made.
This leads me to the Pin of the Week:
I’ve made paper hearts galore, but I never thought to make a wreath with them! It’s brilliant! Plus, this would be a great project do with kids. They could help you make the hearts and glue them all together. It would be a great way to use all of your extra strips of cardstock or patterned paper and you’ll probably have a blast making Valentine decorations together.
What Valentine crafts are you making this year? Cards? Home decor? Scrapbook pages?

Have you ever played around with alcohol inks? I had the chance to play around with them a bunch when I was working at the Maple Grove Archiver’s and I have to tell you, they are addicting! Once I got started, I wanted to try all sorts of different ideas and techniques (some of which ended up as a big brown blob on my paper). They’re a lot of fun and the colors are SO bright!
The Pin(s) of the Week this week are two cool ways to use alcohol inks. Check it out:

For even more amazing alcohol ink inspiration, be sure to check out A Compendium of Curiosities and A Compendium of Curiosities Volume II, both by Tim Holtz. These books are full of creative ideas that will help you think outside the box.

I love the home decor ideas on Pinterest. I think if I was ever to use all of the ideas I’ve seen and pinned, I’d need a house with at least 100 rooms. There are so many creative ideas out there that I want to try!
My Pin of the Week is a fun home decor idea that could be used in just about any room in a house:
How cool is that! I love the bold colors and the brightness the white centers bring. You could totally mix and match solids and patterns. You could use different shades of one color or create an ombre look. I think double-sided patterned papers would be really sweet too.
Have you used any home decor ideas you’ve seen on Pinterest?

Have you had a chance to check out the Silhouette Cameo yet?
This amazing machine is most definitely at the top of my Christmas list and it’s the Pick of the Week on the Annex.
I had the chance to use a friend’s machine and I had so much fun coming up with fun ways to use it for some layouts…and it also made me want to just sit and play and figure out all of the other fun things I could use the machine for…cards, even more layouts, home decor projects. The list could go on and on and on.
Here’s a layout I made…super simple, but it adds so much to the page:
I had some extra cardstock from another layout, so I thought why not? I just measured how tall my photos were and figured out where I wanted the words and arrows to be. The software for the Cameo is pretty easy to use, especially if you take some time to just try things out.
What’s on your wish list this year?

My Pins of the Week for this week are some cute Christmas trees that would be great crafts for the whole fam, especially if some boredom kicks in over Christmas Vacation:

These trees are great if you’ve been working hard on your Christmas cards and have leftover strips of papers lying around.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
A short and sweet post for you today with a brand new board on Pinterest:
Keep Calm and ______ is everywhere! It’s so much fun to see all of the different ideas people have. One of my favorites (and one that will hopefully end up in my kitchen some day) is Keep Calm and Drink Wine. Another fun one is Keep Calm and Scrap On, which would be great in my scrap room.
Check out this awesome Keep Calm a good friend of mine made for me with her Cameo. It lives on my bulletin board here in my office and is a great reminder to be crafty:
How do you keep calm?
