Gettin’ Grungy

Pick of the Week!  Pick of the Week!

We’ve just added a bunch of new products to the Annex…and even more are on their way!

My Pick of the Week today is a stamp set from Stamping Bella…and I picked a stamp because I don’t consider myself a stamper.

However.

I would LOVE to do more with stamping.  I have stamp sets and blocks and inks and embossing powders and a heat tool and just about everything you could ever need to stamp…but I never stamp.

So I guess this has turned into another challenge for myself…stamp more!

And it just works out so well that this stamp set is adorable and would work so well on just about any project:

I’m currently working on my honeymoon album and this set would be absolutely perfect to use on any page.  Culynn and I went to St. Maarten for ten days, so holy hannah do I have pictures to scrap.  Somewhere around 2100…and I think I’m about 30 some pages into the album (it’s progress, right?).  Any of these stamps would make a funky background if stamped with VersaMark or even with a bright, bold ink.  I think the negative would be adorable in a SMASH book with Instagrams (stay tuned for more about those next week!).

Do you like to stamp on layouts?  How do you decide what to stamp and where to stamp?  I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

Happy Friday everyone!

Have you ever tried acrylic paint with your stamps? The Adirondack paint dabbers from Ranger work great on stamps and once the image is dry they work as a resist to Tim Holtz’s Distress Inks. I love using the blending tool to apply and blend different colors to my papers. The distress inks are great for stamping too.
Hope you post one or two of your pages from your album when you finish. I would love to see them.

That’s a great suggestion Ruby! I have stamped with acrylic paints and Distress inks before, but never on a layout. Here’s my blog post with the first page of my honeymoon album: http://blog.archiversonline.com/2011/12/05/well-now-what/

I helped my daughter scrap her honeymoon pics! She gave me the “Mom approved” highlights as we scrapped! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that stamp set! It is so versatile. And I must get it for my Smash book; what a terrific idea. I just gave my 7 year old grand-son a Smash book and he loves to use stamps and stickers in it!
