Celebrate with a creative (and interactive) baby shower activity!

Tired of the traditional baby shower games and looking to do something meaningful for that special mom-to-be in your life? This is the perfect activity for you! Spice up a baby shower by creating a memory album for baby’s first memories. This activity allows guests to interact and socialize, get creative and work together to create a gift mom and baby will cherish for years to come!

Here’s how!

As the host, pick-up these basic supplies:

  • Adhesive
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Chalk ink (I love Chestnut Roan!)
  • 8″ x 8″ album
  • Coordinating paper and embellishments (I used the ADORABLE October Afternoon “Ducks in a Row” collection)
  • Coordinating 8 1/2″ x 11 cardstock
  • Ribbon
  • Basic punches (such as circles or border punches)

Once you’ve selected the creative supplies, spread out the goodies and encourage each guest to create a two-page layout allowing room for mom to add photos later. Consider pulling examples from magazines or even creating a few samples of your own to lead the way.  The result will be a coordinating completed album mom can use immediately!

This idea is perfect for more than just baby showers! By simply changing the type of paper and embellishments, this activity also suites a child’s birthday party, Girl Scout troop, bridal shower and more. If additional copies are needed, take completed pages to Archiver’s where you can easily make archival-safe copies on demand using the color copier.

What a cheerful creation?!

We tried this once, we had a lot of people who claimed they weren’t “creative” and just plain didn’t participate. It was a little frustrating since that meant that we had to go back and finish the book for the friend. You have to know your crowd well to be sure you will have willing participants!!! It does help to if you have some sketches or magazines to copy layed out to help them come up with an idea since a lot of people who don’t scrap seem to think there is a right & wrong way to do it!

we are doing this for my daughter who is a scraper but is having her 2nd son. we all know more babies less time to scrap. so all she has to do is take the pictures and get them printed. We are calling it a sprinkle instead of a shower
