Sorry guys, this looks like just another gimmick to get you to purchase their special acrylic and wood-mounted stamping blocks, which actually makes me angry. Why rape the customer for more money? I’m not impressed and I would only purchase their acrylic-friendly stamps, as I refuse to purchase a special block to use their wood-mounted stamps. I realize you don’t “have” to use their special block to use the wood-mounted stamps, but it looks like the wood-mounted stamps are VERY thin wood. And it also comes down to the principle of it all.

I LOVE my Unity!! Actually I LOVE the “handle” as well…I use it for ALL my cling foam stamps…the “other” acrylic blocks don’t have the nice wooden sides like the Unity ones. As far as my Unity Wood Mounted “slides”…I just stamp as is, I love that they don’t take up so much space in my craft area…AND they are ECO-FRIENDLY…gotta love that!!

Unity has so many wonderful stamps and I love the fact that you can get the wood handles ~ some people prefer the feel of wood while stamping, and this gives you the best of both worlds ~ you still have the wood grip but are using an acrylic mounting system.

    What an awesome video!

I really like the blocks, and plan to buy them, in fact. While it’s definitely true that the stamps do not ‘need’ to be used with Unity handles, I’m sure that some do not have any acrylic blocks yet or even if they do, they haven’t yet discovered the comfort and ease of use. I’ve owned my Unity stamps for a long time and actually hadn’t seen their handles until CHA and I did like the feel of them better than regular acrylic. To me, they feel sturdier and I feel that my grip is more secure (I tend to be a bit of a butterfingers, haha!)

It’s nice that there is that option to use them w the Unity handles, although it’s equally as nice that they can be used w any block so that anyone on any budget can experience the FABULOUSNESS that is Unity! I am SO excited that they’re available at Archiver’s now! Hooray!

As far as I am aware Unity never say you need the handles they sell, in fact they say the stamps can be used with any acrylic block. The wood mounted stamps are on thinner wood mounts than some but it is quite thick enough to use without a handle. Unity make a lot of amazing stamps – you are missing out!

Looks to me like Unity has come up with a great product to use with their stamps. I have a few sets of stamps from them, and love the idea of the new blocks, but have used the stamps with out the new blocks on just some plain acrylic blocks and they work great like that too. Looking forward to trying out the new ones !! Great Job Unity !! I love unity stamps, and the fact that they are designin user friendly products is ok by me!

I LOVE my Unity handle! I use it exclusively now will all my stamps – acrylics and rubber. I love that I can slide the wood mount stamp into the handle to get a better grip on the stamp and it makes it easier to position. Of course I have some wood mount stamps that I don’t have a handle size for and they are easy to use that way as well. I love the handles though – the sides are contoured so they are easy to grip and don’t hurt my hand when doing a lot of stamping. The cling mount and acrylic stamps work wonderfully with these handles as well. I just can’t say enough good things about them! Unity Rocks!

I’ve been using these handles for over 2 years and they ROCK….threw away all of my other acrylic blocks right away :D I use them for all of my sling and clear stamps.

EVEN if you only use the handle for the cling stamps they are SO much better than standard acrylic blocks.

The wood-mounted Unity stamps are super sturdy, and work perfectly with or without the slides/blocks but the feeling of the Unity blocks in your hand is out of this world, like putting on your favorite pair of shoes (mine would be my Vera Wang platforms, hehe!).

    Love them!

Well Maggie… Knowing Unity Stamp for quite some time your WRONG. Not only are their “special acrylic and wood-mounted stamping blocks” amazing, they work GREAT! Unity Stamp has put out a GREAT selection of different ideas and creations. My question to you is… Have you ever used the Unity Stamp products? Looking at your post it appears not… I feel you should contact one of the gal’s at Unity and talk to them about sending you out a free sample. It is very inappropriate to shoot down a product that you yourself has never used. I also feel that if you visit the Unity Blog spot you will find MANY other people happen to enjoy the product. So when it all comes down to it… Stop in at one of the local Michael Stores and pickup a kit for yourself! :)

Oh my goodness, Unity Stamps are my FAVORITE! They helped me to define my style as well as get published for the first few times. I only have one handle but I love it because of how comfortable it is in my hand. I find that other blocks have sharp edges and are uncomfortable to stamp with. I, also, stamp with my wood slides as they are. There is plenty of wood there to use as a stamp and I like that they are “greener” than your average stamp. I also think that they are easier to store than regular wood mounts because they don’t take up nearly as much room.

I love the Unity blocks – I prefer them to the alternatives because I can see what I’m doing, the quality is exceptional, and only for this post, I wouldn’t have to mention the quality … the wooden ‘handles’ actually give you a better grip than just using ‘altrnative’ acrylic blogs.

They’re that good, that I don’t even resent the postage to the UK despite the fact that I could buy inferior blocks elsewhere !!

For anyone who happens upon all these comments, please keep an eye out on the Unity Blog and shop for block deals, which they have on specials occasionally.

Actually, while I’m on …. I’ll also add that Unity stamps are one of the best rubber manufacturers whose stamps I have ever used. They are deeply etched, yet still manage to produce really finely etched rubber. They truly are a market beater – and exceptional value for money !

Incidentally, I am not affiliated to Unity in any way.

Unity Stamps (and their WONDERFUL company/staff/service) are fantastic. I have my fair share of them and am never disappointed. There’s no requirement to buy the handles; it’s a personal decision. No need to bash them for it. They created an innovative product that their products work with but also designed their stamps with versality to not require the handles. Kudos to them. And BTW, the wood-mounted stamps are not “VERY thin” as the original poster assumes; They’re perfectly sized (and save a lot of wood as well as storage space!).

These stamp handles are so versatile! You could use these handles with any brand of unmounted stamps. If you have unmounteds that don’t have the cling on the back, take a small amount of Aleene’s Tack it Over and Over apply to the back of your unmounteds. Let it dry completely, and voila! You can store on a page protector with cardstock in it to stabalize and you can use on your Unity handles, again and again! Thank you Unity for your wonderful images and handles!

Not a way to swindle you out of money. Another OPTION to make your stamping experience better. No one is saying you have to have them. Maggie, I’m sorry you feel this way- everyone is entitled to their own opinion though. I would ask that you think about using such a strong word as “rape” in this context. LOL. here is the story….i wanted to go green. i wanted to save storage space. i wanted to introduce something different. i like thinking outside the box. it is that simple. The handles are manufactured by LFS Tool & Die RIGHT HERE IN THE USA, SPICER, MINNESOTA – thus the higher price point that one pays for quality. Two amazing brothers designed & engineered the machine that makes the Unity Handles. Lance and Lyle Bengston. Very shortly after the machine was completd and Unity was launched Lance lost his life to Cancer. He worked so hard to complete the machine prior to leaving this earth. I am forever grateful. ♥ For all those reasons these handles are special, and for EVEN SO MANY MORE reasons – the stamps are special. Unity is special, because all the people involved, customers, artists, designers, and unity peeps. We are so grateful and happy, not to mention honored that everyone loves Unity.

I use them with all of cling mount or acrylic stamps (no matter which stamp company produced them). I think they’re a great investment in my stamping supplies and I use them frequently – I’ve not regretted purchasing them. The wood makes them easy to grip and easy to handle! I’ve purchased other acrylic blocks that I don’t use as frequently since they are can be harder to hold onto.

I also like my wood cassette stamps from Unity – the system of using the blocks and stamps (wood mount and cling mount) is really what “Unity” is all about. The wood stamps can be used without the handles, I just wanted to note that.

They work fine. You do NOT need the Unity blocks to use the Unity mounted stamps. I was lucky enough though to receive a set of them recently and all I can say is that they are amazing and VERY high quality. Being involved with the company as a customer only I can say they are very helpful too if you have any issues. They did not design the blocks to “rape” the customer. They designed them for the customer who wanted a little more grip. They store awesome, take very little room, are VERY well made, and within the current price points of other companies. Best part – Made in America! You need to actually try them before being so negative. Unity ROCKS!

I wish we had an archivers here in FL! Unity stamps are the best, and you don’t have to use the handle if you don’t want to. I have a ton of those junky acrylic ones you get with the cheaper stamps, but I really do want to invest in a nice Unity one, especially for their awesome large format stamps! I am totally hooked on Unity, and proud to buy from such a great company. They have THE BEST customer service, and are so generous. It also makes me feel good to know that they use wind energy, and minimal packaging.

I really like the designs of the Unity stamps BUT won’t be purchasing anymore after wasting paper trying to align the sentiment stamps within a die cut label. With acrylic cling stamps you can see through them to align them. With the Hero Arts Clings they have an image imprinted that you can see through the acrylic block to align with. There is nothing with the Unity sentiment stamps to help align the words. It’s not even centered on a rectangle shape but cut around the words using uneven curves … absolutely nothing to help with the alignment. I tried 5 times and gave up … moved onto another design with a stamp I could use easier. Would love to know an easy way to align these stamps so I can use the great ‘sayings’ on my cards.
