Save time with 4×6 photos

It was brought to my attention by a friend of mine that not everyone blows up the photos they intend to use on a scrapbook page. Some people prefer to strictly use 4×6 photos! Point taken…I just can’t help myself. When I have a fabulous photo, I like to enlarge it and use it as the focal point. I also like the look of photos in a variety of sizes displayed together. However, I understand that not everyone has the time or desire to manipulate their photos for each and every scrapbook page. I ran across this magazine in our store the other day and couldn’t wait to show my friend. It has great ideas and samples of pages using ONLY 4×6 photos. Who knew?! I’m not sure if she was happier with the magazine or the fact that she is not alone in her scrapbooking style. As it turns out, I discovered that I really LOVE many of the samples using just 4×6 photos, and it will save me a ton of time. You may be seeing something from this magazine on Scraplift Monday!

I’ve considered blowing up a photo for a layout, but when I do FINALLY get around to having some photos printed, it’s usually a lot cheaper just to have 4×6 photos printed.

I wish there was a way to not have to plan ahead so much to know which ones I wanted to enlarge. I’d love to have more than just 4×6, but as Courtney said, it’s often easier just to have the 4×6′s on hand.

I totally agree with the comments on the 4×6 vs. enlarged photos! It is more expensive to use photos of non-standard sizes and scrapbooking isn’t exactly a cheap hobby to begin with! And with lots of photos already printed at 4×6, I really need to use the ones I have (I’m REALLY behind on my scrapbooks!). Even re-printing photos to smaller sizes is time-consuming and costly so I am happy to see this magazine. I often feel frustrated when looking at all of the beautiful LO’s published and trying to figure how to do something as pretty and effective with my photos on hand. This is a welcome mag and I hope to see more attention paid to those of us who use 4×6 ‘s!

Glad you like the magazine Barb. I agree, it’s a great way to use up the photos that you already have printed, and the layouts are really nice too! Have fun scraplifting!

I love this idea of 4×6 photo pages… The only problem that I am having is I can’t find this magazine anywhere. Anyone have any ideas of how I can get my hands on one???? Thank you.
