This technique is just like leathertooling. When I was in elementary school, we tooled leather pieces to make key chains for our parents. I remember tooling my mom's name into the huge leather square, pounding in flowers, and punching holes in all 4 corners. My mom used that key chain for a VERY long time, and after 35 years or so she gave it back to me. My mom turned 80 just this week. Thanks for bringing back some really great memories. I can't wait to take the chipart class this weekend! It will be elementary school all over again. I HAVE to get these chipart tools! It looks like a lot of fun! I bought this a few weeks ago, but was disappointed to find when I got home that with the three pack chip art stamps you have to have two different handles. The 1/2 inch tool only fits into two of the stampers. I have to go buy another handle for the smaller stamper, which is disappointing on the part of Melody Ross and her team to package it that way.
