Creative Time with your Kids

We have always made handmade Valentines in my house. It is something I look forward to every year. This year, Molly inspired me with her creative lollipop idea posted last week. We changed things up a little at our house, because my son informed me that “first graders don’t give each other girl stuff”.  So, using some scrap cardstock and Transformers stickers, we “manned-up” some transformer lollipops for my son’s friends. We spent an hour working together. We chatted about his day, talked about his friends…and used up some of my aging scrapbooking supplies. It was some of the most quality and enjoyable time I have spent with him all week.

Craft with your kids. You will instill a life long love of creativity and memory keeping if you do this with them while they are young. I have boys, but they love to make projects as much as my friend’s daughters do. Will loved his Valentine results and had fun doing it. I even got an “I love you mom” at the end of the night.….mission accomplished for both of us.
